LGBT+ History Month

LGBT+ History Month and the Library

As we approach the end of February, we are coming to the end of LGBT+ History Month. While the book displays may come down, we would like to stress that this is not a monthly note in our calendar. We are an ally 365 days of the year, please browse our LibrarySearch catalogue for further reading.  Also in addition, we have our virtual bookshelves https://blogs.napier.ac.uk/library/virtual-bookshelves/ and a reading list over at our LibGuides page https://libguides.napier.ac.uk/wellbeing/sexuality

We want the library to be a safe and inclusive space for all our users.

We are currently working on decolonising our reading list which we hope will be published soon.

Library+ History Month 2023: Behind the Lens

This year, we celebrated the theme, people and lived experience of #BehindtheLens with events and celebrations across the country.  Each library campus showcased our wonderful creative industries and art book stock with a display celebrating behind the lens. We hope you had a chance to look at our displays and enjoy them. Furthermore remember that you can still access books and DVDs in our catalogue. We were pleased that our book displays got to be featured in the University newsletter ‘In the Bones’.

LGBT+ History Month and the University

We also would like to remind you that the university has an LGBT+ staff network that enables LGBT+ colleagues and allies to come together to share information, learn together, socialise and support each other. You can find out more at the LGBT+ staff network home page LGBT+ Network Home (napier.ac.uk)

And you can read about our previous LGBT+ History month here as well as last year’s
