Love Your Library
Love your Library Week is back again in its usual yearly harmony with the old traditional Valentine’s Day, occurring this year on Friday the 14th of February. Alongside this, we will be running our yearly feedback drive where we will be asking our student community to tell us what they love most about our campus libraries, or what they do not love so much about them. You are more than welcome to be fully honest with us as well – we love hearing from our student community and receiving feedback regarding our facilities, resources and services that we offer, whether it is fully positive or provides thoughts and suggestions on what we can improve on.
Our Physical Displays and Free Love Heart Sweets…
If you have visited any of our three campus libraries this week, whether it be Sighthill, Merchiston or Craiglockhart, you may have come across our eye-catching, pretty-in-pink displays with heart-shaped post-it notes. Free love-heart sweeties will, of course, also be supplied, so do help yourself! Feel free to also show us some love and leave us some feedback while you are at our displays should it be the case that their eye-catching set-ups (or sweets) lure you in. Feedback can be written on our heart-shaped posted notes and stuck on our display boards once you have finished writing.
Love our library spaces? Our layout? Our Wellbeing Collection? Perhaps there is a book you have read that you loved that we have in stock? Let us know! Or alternatively, let us know what you do not love about us. It helps us to continually improve and enhance our spaces, services and resources so that our student community gets the best out of us and our facilities that they can. It can also be anonymous as well if you wish!
Can’t, or haven’t make it to campus this week? You can still leave us feedback by emailing us at library@napier.ac.uk.
Photos of our Campus Displays…

Spreading the library love…
We have a vast variety of resources, spaces and services to support you with your studies and learning journey at Napier.
We have our lovely library spaces including silent study areas, group study spaces and rooms, bookable study rooms and our relaxation spaces should you feel the need to take a break from a long study session! Our study rooms can be booked through Resource Booker. There are also family study rooms located in both our Merchiston and Craiglockhart library campuses which can be booked through Resource Booker as well.
And of course, books! We have shelves stocked with books in each of our campus libraries, most of which will be relevant to the course which you are currently undertaking with us. We also have our New Titles stand showing all of the new books that have recently come in as well as our Wellbeing Collection. At Napier, we actively promote and believe in the importance of taking care of your physical and mental health and in our libraries, we provide resources and spaces which both facilitate and help our student community to put this into practice daily. Our wellbeing collection is a part of our we do this, with resources such as books and DVDs which cover a variety of topics related to mental and emotional health, self-esteem, overcoming challenges and personal growth.
You can find out more about our well-being collection and what resources we have to offer in our LibGuide. Self-love and care is significant, particularly during challenging periods and stressful times (such as exam season)! Also, visit our Support and Information section for more information about available support services and useful contacts within the university and externally.
