£10m fund announced for Scottish ‘pop-up’ cycle lanes and wider pavements

Today, Michael Matheson MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity, announces £10m fund to support pop-up Active Travel infrastructure across Scotland – administered by Sustrans and open for local authorities to apply today – helping support physical distancing while walking or cycling.

Covid-19: “We must take bold action to reset the system to meet our climate change ambitions, reducing inequalities, improving our health and wellbeing, and delivering sustainable economic growth”.  The key aim is that operators are in a good position to recover when we start to open up again. In addition, planning has now started to ensure that the Low Carbon vehicle supply chains can continue to have a strong presence in supporting the global shift to Low Emission transport systems.
