Workplace Parking Levies talk – Thursday 11th October

Transform Scotland are hosting a talk on Thursday 11 October, 18:30-20:00 at the Edinburgh City Chambers on Workplace Parking Levies (WPLs) by Sue Flack, architect of the Nottingham WPL scheme. WPLs are one of the most innovative ways cities are looking to reduce carbon emissions and congestion whilst raising revenue.  In Nottingham the WPL scheme led to a significant modal shift to public transport, walking and cycling; a 33% reduction in carbon emissions; and has raised over £25 million of revenue which has been reinvested in the city’s transport infrastructure.

Transform are campaigning for the Scottish Governments Transport Bill to allow Local Authorities to implement WPLs to tackle increasing carbon emissions from the transport sector and congestion in our major cities.

This talk will highlight the benefits Scotland could miss out on.
