Sherpa services are funded by Jisc to provide some useful online tools to help researchers find the information they need to publish their work open access. Currently, Sherpa services include:
Sherpa Romeo – use this online search tool to find a publisher’s policy on copyright and self-archiving. You can use the simple search and find by either Journal Title/ISSN or by the publisher name. Results will be summaries of the permissions that are normally given in each publisher’s copyright transfer agreement.
Sherpa Juliet – using this online search tool you can find out the open access policies of many research funders.
Sherpa Fact – with this online search tool, researchers can find out if the journal they want to publish in complies with their funder’s policies on open access. The simple search is by either Journal title or ISSN, and the Funder is selected from a drop-down list.
