Consultation on Plan S implementation guidance
Yesterday, cOAlition S announced guidance on how to implement Plan S and opened a consultation period for discussion and feedback. cOAlition S welcomes feedback until 1st February 2019 and you can find details of how to submit feedback on the cOAlition S website. There is a seven page guidance document ‘Making full and immediate Open Access a reality‘ available for more detailed information.
This consultation period encourages researchers and other interested parties to consider the implications of complying with Plan S and to send their feedback to cOAlition S. Compliance with Plan S can be met in three main ways – publishing in an open access journal or platform, depositing your Author Accepted Manuscript/Version of Record in an open access repository without any embargo or “publication in ‘hybrid’ journals only under transformative arrangements.” The guidance gives researchers further information on the requirements of these three different ways of complying with Plan S.
