You might not have noticed the act on acceptance page  on this blog but it’s an important message to get across. From 1st April next year the rules about making your work eligible for REF 2021 are going to change. As a researcher you will need to deposit your work in the repository within three months of acceptance for publication. There is a very real risk that busy researchers could miss a deadline, fail to comply with the changed rules and discover their work isn’t eligible for inclusion in REF 2021. We really don’t want that to happen.

So how can we help? One easy message is the answer and the ‘Act on acceptance’ campaign is the result. As soon as you find out your work has been accepted for publication, deposit it in the repository and send us the evidence of acceptance. It’s an easy message to remember. It means you stay ahead of the rule change and it helps ensure your work is eligible for REF 2021.
