Greg Searles’ PhD thesis entitled”Acoustic segregation and structural timber production” is now available online.
Greg came to Edinburgh Napier from his native Australia to undertake the work, which investigated the potential to increase the yields of structural timber through the segregation of raw material by acoustic techniques and implementation of alternative sawmill cutting patterns.
The work was funded by The Scottish Forestry Trust, who financially support people with grant funding to assist work which involves education, research or training that will lead to the development of UK forestry. http://www.scottishforestrytrust.org.uk
