ICF national conference 2016

The Institute of Chartered Foresters is holding their annual conference on 27-28 April at the Newcastle Marriott Hotel, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

The programme aims to challenge conventional thinking on the cascading use of timber, and explore how best to capitalise on emerging markets.  It explores the whole supply chain from species choice to potential future markets, covering:

  • Supply and demand forecasts
  • Species selection and tree improvement for timber markets
  • Processing for value and profit
  • Developments in UK construction
  • Market opportunities on the horizon
  • Adding value to the UK forest resource

Dan Ridley-Ellis will be speaking in session 4 “Processing for value and profit” with a talk entitled “Making the grade and maximising the opportunities”
