World Conference on Timber Engineering
20 August 2018 - 23 August 2018
WCTE is an international forum for presenting and discussing the latest technical and architectural developments and innovations in wood construction, timber engineering, engineered wood products, design of timber structures and related topics.
Conference technical sessions will address the following topics:
Materials: structural properties, grading, and quality control of wood-based materials
Connections: structural analysis, modeling and design of connections, long-term behavior, fatigue and effects of moisture for connections
Structural Performance: wide range of structural systems, such as heavy timber frame, light-frame, bracing, CLT structures, and various composite systems (timber-concrete, timber-steel, timber-glass, etc), long-term performance, seismic design, and code development for the structural systems
Building Performance and Management: Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), acoustics (sound insulation) and fire resistance of building component & system, building`s operation and maintenance technology
Tall Wood Buildings: high-rise wood buildings, structural design, code development, innovative structural systems for multi-story and tall wood building, integrated design and construction for high-rise wood buildings
Environmental Impact and Energy: sustainable and eco-friendly residential environment in wooden buildings, life cycle assessment, energy efficiency, passive and net-zero energy house technologies.
Traditional and Historic Structures: rehabilitation, recycling, and retrofitting of historic buildings and structures, structural behavior monitoring and cultural properties of traditional wood buildings
Educations and Future Trends: teaching and policies for timber engineering, re-emergence of wood as a main building material in contemporary construction, design tools and training, industry strategies to increase and improve wood use in modern constructions
