Niall Buchanan

I am a current PhD Psychology student and my research focus is on online behaviours and understanding deviant online behaviours.  My academic study began in IT with a BA in Information Management and I then worked for several years at IBM for before starting an OU degree in Forensic Psychology and transitioning into psychological research.

My PhD at Napier focuses on profiling perpetrators of online sexual harassment and attempting to better understanding why people engage in deviant behaviour online.  I am aiming to build a psychometric scale to measure online sexual harassment proclivity and use quantitative data and analysis to build a profile of perpetrators of abuse and identify potential predictors of sexual harassment online.
