I came to psychology through working in pubs, then as a care assistant, and then as a Speech and Language Therapist. During my doctoral research, which was supervised by Martin Corley at the University of Edinburgh and Sonja Schaeffler at Queen Margaret University, I used ultrasound imaging of the mouth during speech in order to investigate links between thought and speech. In my teaching at Edinburgh Napier University I get to share my research and career interests with students. I currently teach Researching Psychology 1 and Researching Psychology 3. I also contribute to teaching on Cognitive Psychology 1 and Introduction to Educational Psychology. I also act as Year 1 Lead. If you’re interested in what I do then please feel welcome to contact me at E.Drake@napier.ac.uk.
