UKRI’s open access policy will apply to books from 1 Jan 2024. On their webpage about implementing the open access policy, there is now some additional guidance for UKRI-funded authors looking to publish books based on the research arising from their grant funding. The process will involve the author’s research organisation applying directly to UKRI on their behalf to secure the necessary funding to pay for open access costs.
