Statement from UUK on Horizon Europe
Universities UK (UUK) supports the agreement made by EU institutions over the future shape of the Horizon Europe programme. This programme succeeds Horizon 2020, and will run from 2021 until 2027. UUK is confident that Horizon Europe will continue to encourage research collaborations that succeed in producing high quality research across Europe. This research benefits UK Universities, collaborators from the EU and ultimately the outcomes of this research are experienced by EU citizens.
Today the UUK issued a statement which urges the government to confirm the UK’s involvement with Horizon Europe, regardless of Brexit outcomes. It’s essential the UK government works with the EU Commission to agree the UK’s association with Horizon Europe as soon as possible and this is contained in the statement issued today by the UUK Board.
