Ambitious for our students; ambitious for ourselves

“I love the conferences, they really help me connect with colleagues and get great ideas!”

The conference was opened by Principal Andrea Nolan and included a discussion between Vice Principal Alistair Sambell and NSA President Dan Smith focusing on the promises we are making to our students contained within the emerging University and Academic Strategies. The day also included contributions from colleagues across the University (and their students) sharing their approaches and practice.

High quality learning and teaching, with an emphasis of active student engagement is at the heart of all that we do. But just how will gaining professional recognition help to realise this and our ambitious plans? Exploring this was a significant element of the day. Sally Bradley (Academic Lead, Accreditation at the Higher Education Academy) joined us to share a sector wide perspective and she reflected on the impact of a nationwide recognition scheme. The conference concluded with a convivial launch of the University’s new professional recognition framework ENRoute.
