Edinburgh Napier’s peer learning programme was established in 2019, and has since worked in schools across the university. The programme recruits students who have successfully completed a module to help fellow students taking that same module the following year.

The experienced “peer leaders” organise and deliver sessions throughout the term. These provide attendees with a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of course content and develop key skills, like exam preparation and essay writing. Sessions are informal, interactive, and open to all students enrolled on the modules in question.

“Peer learning is a great opportunity to deepen your knowledge of course content in a more informal environment. It’s very beneficial because it’s a good place to ask questions and talk through any struggles, both with the module content and structure, that we all encounter at some point.”

Alice, a peer leader in the School of Arts and Creative Industries
