Meet alumnus Cranston Kelly, MBA Criminal Justice

Studying for an MBA at Edinburgh Napier University, either online or in-person, is designed to develop leadership, strategic thinking, and practical business skills, making it suitable for both graduates and working professionals. It aims to prepare students for management roles and support career progression in a competitive business environment. The Business School is proudly AACSB-accredited, which recognises excellence in teaching, research, curriculum development, and student learning, and is held by less than 6% of global institutions that offer business degrees.

“I write to formally express my sincere thanks and appreciation to Edinburgh Napier University, the academic staff, and the Global Online Support Team following the successful completion of my programme, the Master of Business Administration (Criminal Justice), awarded with Merit.
Choosing Edinburgh Napier University was a deliberate and well-considered decision, and I can now say with confidence that it was the correct one. The programme was both intellectually demanding and professionally rewarding. The courses challenged me to think critically, read widely and deeply, and apply theory to real-world criminal justice and organisational contexts. This academic rigour significantly strengthened my analytical, strategic, and leadership capabilities.
I am deeply grateful to the lecturers and resource persons whose expertise, guidance, and commitment to excellence made this journey both enriching and inspiring. I also wish to commend the Global Online Support Team for their consistent professionalism, responsiveness, and encouragement throughout the duration of my studies. As an international student balancing full-time professional responsibility, this level of support was invaluable.
This achievement represents far more than the attainment of a degree. It has become a source of motivation and inspiration for those around me. My wife, encouraged by my experience, is now enrolled in her own programme of study. Several of my colleagues at work and members of my family have also been motivated to pursue higher education, recognising the transformative value of lifelong learning.
I am a serving member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, and when I commenced my studies, I held the rank of Inspector. After completing the MBA, I was promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police. While the MBA was not the sole determinant of my promotion, it played a meaningful role in strengthening my professional profile and contributed to my being shortlisted for advancement. More importantly, the programme has enhanced my confidence, broadened my perspective, and sharpened my vision for the future.
I remain immensely proud to be a graduate of Edinburgh Napier University and look forward to maintaining a lifelong connection with the institution. Thank you for the investment you have made in my personal and professional development.”
