UK higher education institutions have signed a new agreement with the publisher Elsevier to cover the costs of open access. From now until the end of 2024, all authors of articles published in eligible Elsevier journals where the corresponding author is affiliated with Edinburgh Napier University (or other participating universities) will be able to make their article open access. This is free at the point of publication to the author – the costs have already been covered by the annual subscription fee paid by the library.

Cell Press and Lancet titles are also covered by the deal. The Elsevier website has further information about eligibility.
