American undergraduate student Corrine loves to spend her free time browsing for retro finds in thrift shops and vintage fairs in Edinburgh.
This past Sunday I attended Lou Lou's Vintage Fair in Edinburgh looking for discounted, vintage clothing and items. When I walked into the grand Assembly Rooms hall I saw dozens of stalls set up with retro dresses, shoes, and fur jackets up for the picking. I regularly go to thrift shops around Edinburgh for little gems, although I never quite know if I will find something good or not. At the vintage fair, however, I know I’ll find something great for a good price. I have even found household items and prints before that I wasn’t interested in finding initially.
I love to see the other enthusiastic vintage shoppers
Retro dresses, shoes, accessories and much more are on sale at the fair.
The vintage fair runs a few times a year. I go to most of them so I can get retro clothing for all the seasons. The fair’s environment is warm and I love to see other enthusiastic vintage shoppers like me walking down. At the fair, I looked around for brooches, records, and any sort of accessories that would help me look like Audrey Hepburn or Marlene Deitrich.
I left the fair with an amazing hair-do
In addition to all of the stalls, the Lipstick, Lashes, and Locks salon set up a booth where they gave women vintage make-up and hair styles. I got victory rolls for the first time in my life, thanks to the salon. The hair styling took longer than I expected since I have so much hair to tease, but the wait was well worth it. I left the vintage fair with an amazing hair-do and a Harrington jacket that I found for only 20 pounds.
Just love the vintage tour!
