What RIO events are coming up?

The RIO events are listed on the learning events section of the staff intranet home page. You can filter the learning events by selecting the drop down tab to see ‘Research skills’ events. We also email out information about individual courses approximate 3-4 weeks before each event, giving you the chance to see what’s coming up, keep an eye out for emails from RIOevents@napier.ac.ukto stay up-to-date.

Where can I book on a course?

Our event emails contain links allowing you to book directly on to the course, and you can also book courses via HRConnect Self-service. This short video explains how to book yourself onto a course:

What online development resources are there for researchers?

We have a range of online resources for our researchers ranging from videos about different topics, to fully online Moodle courses on research skills that you can work through at your own pace. Just enrol using GBNP1 to access the content. We also have access to Vitae’s online Researcher Development Framework planner to support PGR and Early career researchers with career and development planning.

Where can I find out about the ethics processes here at Edinburgh Napier?

All research carried out at Edinburgh Napier is governed by our Code of Practice on Research Integrity. Each School has a Research Integrity Committee and approval for ethics applications is devolved to school level. If your research involves staff/students across multiple schools then you can apply using our cross-university ethical application process.
