The influence of Frankenstein is apparent in  many of Tim Burton’s films. This is evident in his use of Gothic tropes and the exploration of the other. In his early works Burton celebrates and sympathises with the other. However, over time Burton’s characters have become bland and they pale in comparison to protagonists emerging in newer children’s films.
