We are excited to introduce new categories for this year to celebrate the enormous response in fighting COVID-19 and the hidden heroes who help make collaborations happen.
Applications are now open – deadline for applications is 5pm, Friday 12th February 2021 and the winners will be announced at The Scottish Knowledge Exchange Awards which will be held online on Wednesday 21st April 2021. Watch the launch video here.

COVID-19 Collaborative Response
This award is given for an innovative product, process or service that has been developed by a business, public sector organisation or third sector in response to COVID-19 in collaboration with a university, research institute or college partner.

Innovation of the Year
Awarded to an innovative product, process or service that has been developed over the past five years. Applications should demonstrate how the academic partnership has been fundamental in supporting the product, service or process innovation.
This award is for Interface facilitated and Innovation Voucher projects only. The Interface team will nominate projects and will contact businesses and academics directly to request further detail for the judging panel.
Innovator of the Future
This award is open to KTP Associates, Further Education and Higher Education students or Postgraduate Students (including those who have undertaken an Innovation Voucher Student Placement) who have been hosted (within business premises or virtually) or sponsored by a business for a minimum of three months, in collaboration with a Scottish university, research institute or college.

Knowledge Exchange Champion
Recognising an individual in Academia (university, research institute, college), Business or Business Support Organisation who has made an outstanding contribution and played a pivotal role in the promotion of knowledge exchange and of business and academic partnerships within Scotland.

Knowledge Exchange Heroes
Recognising an individual or team behind the scenes in an academic research & innovation or research and enterprise office who has played a pivotal role in assisting knowledge exchange projects between industry and academia.

Making a Difference
Celebrating collaborative projects which have achieved significant social or environmental impacts that ultimately contribute towards a better, fairer and more sustainable future.

Multiparty Collaboration
This award is open to groups and consortia involving three or more parties working together on an innovative research project and include a research partner from Scottish academia and at least one business.

Powerful Partnership
For an academic business collaboration that has demonstrated long term strategic partnering and the benefits to both the business and the academic teams achieved through knowledge exchange.
