Douglas McLachlan and Musab Hemsi of Anderson Strathern together with Basil Manoussos of Edinburgh Napier University’s Cyber Academy will explore the important steps tech businesses must take to secure and protect their valuable IP and trade secrets against internal and external threats.

As well as summarising the key stages in legal compliance, this discussion will look at how securing IP provides the foundations for talent attraction and retention, commercial success, sustainable investment and growth.

Douglas McLachlan, Partner, Anderson Strathern
Douglas leads our intellectual property, data protection & technology team. He is certified by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in cyber security. He has over 20 years experience and works on all aspects of intellectual property/information technology law and has been at the forefront of advising clients in relations to GDPR and freedom of information issues.

Musab Hemsi, Director, Anderson Strathern
Musab is a specialist in employment law. He is dual-accredited in employment law by the Law Society of Scotland and the WS Society (The Society of Writers to HM Signet). He has over a decade of experience, known for his innovative thinking and genuine focus on generating demonstrable improvements and savings in his clients’ businesses.

Basil Manoussos is an Expert Witness and a digital forensics consultant, owner of Strathclyde Forensics and the Manager of The Cyber Academy at Edinburgh Napier University.
