1pm Welcome 


1 – 1.50pm Literature searching 
ENU Subject Librarian Group

This session will help you to search a range of information sources for your literature review, starting with how to use key databases for your subject. It will split into groups by School and Subject Librarians will highlight key resources which are relevant to your School’s subject areas.
This session maps to the RDF’s sub domains of Knowledge base (A1) and Cognitive abilities (A2). 


1.50 – 2.20pm Afternoon tea virtual bingo – Networking session

Who is doing qualitative research? Is anyone currently drinking a cup of tea? Find out in this online virtual bingo networking session.  Grab yourself a tea or a coffee and some edible goodies and join us for our afternoon tea virtual bingo. This is the perfect chance to get to know your colleagues around the University. By taking part in this game of virtual bingo you will be entered into a prize-draw for a John Lewis gift card. 2.30 – 3.25pm Deceptive publishing 
Maria King  Subject Librarian, School of Health and Social Care 

Are you thinking about publishing an academic journal article? This workshop will explain what deceptive publishing is and look at examples of deceptive journals, comparing these to reputable ones, to help you to identify whether a journal is reputable or deceptive. It will cover aspects including: 

  • Presentation, language, grammar, and spelling 
  • Topics 
  • Editorial Board 
  • Publisher 
  • APC information 
  • Indexing and impact factors 

This session maps to the RDF’s sub domains of Communication and dissemination (D2) and Professional and career development (B3).

3.35 – 4.30pm Developing and curating your digital portfolio 
In this session, Dr Sam Illingworth (Associate Professor: Learning and Teaching) will look at how you can develop and curate your digital portfolio to further your research career. Join us to learn more!
