Glasgow Explorathon 2024 was a great public engagement experience! The network had one of the largest interactive displays at the Riverside Museum in Glasgow, with surveys and activities from four different network groups. Among the displays were an experiment looking at health information messaging designed with help from Ted Webster, Marina Wimmer, and Chantal den Daas; an interactive intervention and activity to help identify AI-fake faces by Mansi Pattni; a children’s zone activity looking at real and fake quotes from their favorite characters; and a brief exploration into fake news eyetracking research with Ted Webster.
A huge thank you to David Robertson for organising this event, and to the student volunteers from University of Strathclyde for helping it run so smoothly! Our room saw over 60 participants taking active participation in science in just a few hours.
