TICA Project

TICA aims to establish a sustained and collaborative network of key Scottish stakeholders to support the future public engagement of ethnic minorities in climate and environmental initiatives; and develop a better understanding of the current landscape of Scottish ethnic minorities’ engagement in climate and environmental action, to identify research gaps and inform the future research agenda on ethnic climate action in Scotland and beyond. Ultimately, it paves the way for Scotland to become a leader in practicing inclusive public engagement on climate and environmental issues, thereby facilitating its successful transition to Net Zero

The project launched on the 1st of May 2026 through a networking event at ENU’s Sighthill Campus (Step One); the three drama workshops (Step Two) will be carried out through July to September 2026 in Edinburgh and Glasgow with participants from a wide range of ethnic minority communities across Scotland.
