The varied career options open to registered nurses

In February, 48 different employers were at Sighthill campus for our careers fair for nursing and midwifery students.
The range of potential employers immediately struck Michael, a third year nursing student, who said: “I found the careers fair to be very informative. It opened my mind to the different possibilities in a nursing career. I now feel more confident in progressing forward after graduation, and I discovered I might enjoy working in areas I may have not thought of before hand.”
Employers ranged from many specialisms within Scotland’s NHS Trusts – from Grampian to Borders – to cruise companies, charities, and routes within the three armed services.

The careers fair – organised by the University’s Employability & Careers team – saw hundreds of students from Edinburgh Napier attend on the day, making the most of their opportunity to meet with potential employers, ask plenty of questions, and consider options after they graduate and register with either the Royal College of Nursing or Royal College of Midwives.
The Employability & Careers team offers students and alumni support and access to interactive resources such as a CV builder and interview simulator. Students can contact the team via MyNapier and graduates can use Edinburgh Napier – Employer services – Home
