The Urban Research and Education Knowledge Alliance (U!REKA) consortium was formed in November 2016. The consortium is led by a Steering Committee composed of one senior member from each institution - in the case of Edinburgh Napier, its Steering Committee member is Prof Alistair Sambell, Senior Vice Principal and Deputy Vice Chancellor.

The coordinator's committee is composed of one member from each institution who will act as the primary point of contact and information relay within each institution. Their details may be found on the contacts page.

The Consortium has a number high level objectives which it is looking to achieve within a 5-year horizon:

  • A successful U!REKA application to one of the European Union's subsidy programmes (Horizon 2020, Erasmus+);
  • To set up of a joint educational programme between the U!REKA partners, for example a joint degree course ;
  • The design and realisation of a U!REKA blended learning project (for example in the form of a joint MOOC);
  • The institutes will develop collaborative research activities based on their mutual areas of interest  and share the results during conferences and in publications.
