PCP: Observe and Feedback

“By taking the time to engage with nature we can design solutions that suit our particular situation.”

David Holmgren

This meditative experience would invite the visitor to sit on a bench or to lay on the grass, take some deep breaths and listen what is going on around them. This activity would explore the first, and arguably the most important, permaculture principle “observe and interact” and “self-regulate and accept feedback.” It would be explained to visitors that when implementing sustainable practices within their everyday life, or creating a permaculture garden of their own – they must first stop and examine the ways in which they could improve. First acknowledging what may be an unsustainable practice, before working to change their pattern.
