{"id":996,"date":"2019-10-08T11:18:07","date_gmt":"2019-10-08T11:18:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/scebe-research\/?p=996"},"modified":"2019-10-08T11:18:07","modified_gmt":"2019-10-08T11:18:07","slug":"global-challenges-research-funding-applications-now-invited","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/scebe-research\/global-challenges-research-funding-applications-now-invited\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Challenges Research Funding &#8211; applications now invited"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">RIO is\u00a0 inviting applications for the 1st round of 2019-20 SFC GCRF internal funding scheme. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">The funding for this initiative comes from the Scottish Funding Council\u00a0 2019-20\u00a0 Global Challenges Research Funding (GCRF) allocation of which the University received \u00a388,000 . <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">The SFC GCRF funding is aimed at supporting activity such as: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Capacity and capability building in the UK and developing countries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Pump-priming activities to under-pin GCRF bids to other funders, including relationship building.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Small scale pilot projects with developing countries<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">RIO would like to invite bid proposals from researchers who are intending to apply for GCRF funding in the future and require \u2018pump prime\u2019 funding now to under-pin GCRF bids. This can include travel to start building relationships with collaborators in ODA countries through to small pilot and foundational projects. Proposals from researchers should outline the total amount of funding required and detail what the funding will be used for (for example flight and accommodation costs). It should also detail why the funding is necessary and how the funds will meet the ODA and GCRF supporting activities (listed below). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">Please note that there is a requirement to use this funding on eligible activity by end of June 2020.
