{"id":884,"date":"2019-08-16T14:14:04","date_gmt":"2019-08-16T14:14:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/scebe-research\/?p=884"},"modified":"2019-08-16T14:14:04","modified_gmt":"2019-08-16T14:14:04","slug":"rse-funding-opportunity-sabbatical-research-grant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/scebe-research\/rse-funding-opportunity-sabbatical-research-grant\/","title":{"rendered":"RSE Funding Opportunity &#8211; Sabbatical Research Grant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Royal Society of Edinburgh<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Royal Society of Edinburgh offers a range of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rse.org.uk\/funding-awards\/\">funding opportunities<\/a>\u00a0which seek to attract and retain those with outstanding potential to establish their STEM and arts and humanities careers in Scotland; encourage enterprise, innovation and the commercialisation of technology-based ideas coming from academic research; and develop international collaboration and enable participation in international research programmes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sabbatical Research Grant<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications for our Sabbatical Research Grant are now\u00a0<strong>open<\/strong>, and will close on the 14<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0October at 5pm.\u00a0These Grants offer academic staff on open-ended or continuing contracts of employment in Scottish Higher Education Institutions the opportunity to take up to 12 months sabbatical leave to focus on a research project of their choice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eligible applicants must be existing members of academic staff \u2013 on open ended or continuing contracts of employment \u2013 in a Scottish Higher Education Institution (HEI) \u2013 who have held a teaching appointment for up to a maximum of 7 years since acquiring their PhD at the closing date.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants are required to pursue their research in a HEI or Research Institute (RI) in Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>The research projects proposed must be in a STEM discipline, including Social Science.
