We are looking to recruit a PhD student to work on ‘An investigation of influence of construction methods on dynamic response of long-span residential timber floors’ within the School of Engineering and the Built Environment.<\/p>\n
Academic qualifications:\u00a0 A first degree (at least a 2.1) ideally in Civil Engineering with a good fundamental knowledge of timber structures.<\/p>\n
Essential attributes:<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Experience of fundamental in conducting laboratory tests<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Competent in Structural analysis, structural dynamics and structural mechanics<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Knowledge of timber as an engineering material, test standards<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Good written and oral communication skills<\/p>\n
. Strong motivation, with evidence of independent research skills relevant to the project<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Good time management<\/p>\n
Desirable attributes:<\/p>\n
