That marks an improvement from 501-600 last year, and 801-1000 in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The university scored best for its international outlook, which examines the proportion of international academic staff, students and co-authorship. It also saw an increase in academic citations, a key measure of influence.<\/p>\n<p>It follows Edinburgh Napier\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.napier.ac.uk\/about-us\/news\/the-awards-shortlist-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent shortlisting for THE University of the Year<\/a>&nbsp;and its continued place as a top 10 modern university in the Times\/Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Top Scottish modern university for research power and research impact <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This year\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.napier.ac.uk\/research-and-innovation\/research-environment\/our-research-ranking\/ref-2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Research Excellence Framework<\/a> results also positioned Edinburgh Napier as the top Scottish modern university for both research power and research impact.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Andrea Nolan, Principal &amp; Vice Chancellor of Edinburgh Napier University, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/rie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2022\/10\/Andrea-Nolan-crop.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-2452 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/rie\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2022\/10\/Andrea-Nolan-crop-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\"><\/a>\u201cThe latest THE World University Rankings are another indication of Edinburgh Napier going from strength to strength. Given the scores are based heavily on the calibre of research, our work and impact in a range of fields has clearly made a big contribution. While we are an institution firmly rooted in our local communities, it is also a source of pride to be recognised for our ability to look beyond these shores and make a difference to the wider world.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeshighereducation.com\/world-university-rankings\/2023\/world-ranking\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">THE rankings<\/a> are calculated through analysis of five areas: teaching, research, citations, industry income and international outlook.
