RIE have also published <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/rio\/privacy\/\">this privacy page<\/a> to clarify how we use your data.<\/p>\n<p>In light of <a href=\"https:\/\/ico.org.uk\/for-organisations\/guide-to-the-general-data-protection-regulation-gdpr\/\">General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)<\/a> that comes into force on May 25th 2018, it&#8217;s important for users to be aware that the data-controller of the RIE blog maintains, securely, a database of subscriber email addresses. This database (as part of a WordPress blog system) is used to send notifications of new posts by email, to those who have opted-in to receive them.
