Life Sciences Pitching Bootcamp, Glasgow

On 23 October 2024, SULSA is hosting a Life Sciences Pitching Bootcamp in Glasgow. This event will give academics the opportunity to learn about the spin-out process with Wellspring, before delving into how to prepare the perfect pitch to turn your research project into an exciting business venture with Converge, Scotland’s leading entrepreneurial challenge.

Joining the event will be 4 Scottish Innovators from MI:RNA, Marine Polymers, MicroplateDX and Mi:Algae.

Opportunity to win £1,000 funding

Applicants will be asked to provide a draft pitch which you will workshop during the event before getting your chance to present to their ‘friendly dragons’ with your refined pitch. Winners will receive £1,000 funding towards their professional development and travel expenses will be covered for all attendees. Don’t worry, you don’t need to be ready to launch tomorrow! This event is a perfect first step for developing skills and understanding the process.

This opportunity is open for PhD and postdoctoral researchers and academic staff, and as with all SULSA activities, scientists from across the breadth of life sciences research from animal, plant, human and microbe science are welcome to apply.
