Open access week is an International event which has been running for 10 years to promote Open Access to research. This includes OA publications and research data. This year’s theme is the question “Open in order to…”
This is to create discussion around the benefits of making scholarly outputs openly available. This includes how enabling OA is for the research community for individuals, institutions, academic disciplines etc and the benefits that can be realised from having access to OA outputs
There will be several events held within Edinburgh Napier University and external webinars which you can access to find out more about open access including the benefits and requirements for research active staff and students. The University events will be on each campus during OA week and are organised by the Library (IS) and Research and Innovation office (RIO).
Event details:
The Roadshows within the Campus foyers (11am-1pm) allow you to drop by and speak with library and RIO staff about general OA enquiries including publisher info, APCs, act on acceptance, university OA policy, repository, research data assistance, signing up for an ORCID etc
There will also be ‘Ask the expert’ sessions 1-2pm which allow you to ask specific questions and allow discussion with to the University contacts/experts in various aspects of OA.
