Edinburgh Napier University’s Research and Innovation Office (RIO) blog complies with the privacy policy of the University. You can read ENU’s privacy policy here. RIO have also published this privacy page to clarify how we use your data.
In light of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that comes into force on May 25th 2018, it’s important for users to be aware that the data-controller of the RIO blog maintains, securely, a database of subscriber email addresses. This database (as part of a WordPress blog system) is used to send notifications of new posts by email, to those who have opted-in to receive them. RIO also keeps a record of how many subscribers there are for occasional reporting purposes within the University.
Subscribers have always been in control of their data held on the RIO blog. They can remove their email address from the database easily by following the clearly signposted ‘unsubscribe’ link in the footer of all email notifications.
