Edinburgh Napier joins Aspect to enhance entrepreneurship and commercialisation for academics and staff

Edinburgh Napier University has boosted entrepreneurship and commercialisation opportunities for academics and staff by becoming members of Aspect

About Aspect

Aspect (A SHAPE Platform for Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation and Transformation) is a network for organisations looking to make the most of commercial and business opportunities from social sciences; humanities and arts; people; economy; and environment (SHAPE) research.

This collective of organisations is committed to elevating the visibility and significance of research within the social sciences, arts, humanities, people, economy and environment by aiding academics in translating their research into ventures. It will help us collaboration among academics, businesses, and industries, inspiring and promoting SHAPE innovation while enhancing capacity and expertise in SHAPE research commercialisation.

Research and innovation training opportunities and resources

As well as offering a community to build partnerships and collaborations, Aspect provides training for academics and professional services staff within SHAPE commercialisation.  Aspect testbed offers seed funding for collaborations to support the development of SHAPE research innovation.

All Edinburgh Napier staff have access to the portal which has the upcoming training courses and a wealth of resources to support their research and innovation. Together the network also advocates for the role of SHAPE within research and innovation and promotes its importance in meeting real world challenges.
