To highlight our exciting research projects and to celebrate our research achievements the 2016 ‘Principal’s Research Excellence Awards’ were presented during the research conference. The winners were:
- Best Contribution to Information Society research theme
- Hazel Hall’s project on ‘Mapping the workforce’
- Bill Buchanan’s project on digital forensic
- Best Contribution to Health and Wellbeing research theme
- Valerie Egdell’s project on ‘Social Innovation – empowering the young for the common good’
- Best Contribution to Sustainable Communities research theme
- Tariq Muneer for his work on electric vehicle research
- Innovation of the year in Knowledge Exchange
- Bill Buchanan for their ADECA project on making online payments secure
- Outstanding contribution to university life by a research student
- Frances Ryan for her activities in mentoring other students,and running a weekly writing group
The winners received prize money to further support their research projects.
