InnovateUK: Collaborative Research with Industry – Room 2/06
InnovateUK, part of UK Research and Innovation, provides various funding competitions that support innovation projects and promote collaborations with industry. At this workshop, we will be looking at two key funding competitions – namely the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) (insights from Georgina Jamieson) and the Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) (insights from Judy Brown). Attendees will also hear from Edinburgh Napier’s Dr Michael Smyth who has successfully been awarded ISCF funding as part of a wider collaboration. This workshop will ensure that attendees are aware of how to apply and inspired to!

NapieR – developing a R user community at Edinburgh Napier – Room 2/07
R is an increasingly widely used language and environment for a range of tasks, from statistical analysis through data visualisation to document and app creation.
This workshop will explore the idea of establishing a R user community at Edinburgh Napier (provisionally titled NapieR), to promote the use of R, share knowledge and expertise, and provide support for those interested in learning how to use R in different contexts.
It is aimed at anyone who has an interest in R; from those who want to know what all the fuss is about to experienced R users.
Not all Champagne and Canapes: How to be more resilient in research – Professor Mick Rae – Room 2/05
