Soapbox Science returns to The Mound in Edinburgh on Saturday 3 May 2025. Soapbox Science is a public outreach platform for promoting women and non-binary scientists and the science they do.
We are looking for volunteers to assist on the day to help the event run smoothly. Volunteers are involved in the following roles:
- assisting speakers during their slot on their soapbox
- carrying out evaluation of the event (including conducting short surveys
- helping passers by to engage with the event and crowd control
- asking questions of speakers to encourage dialogue between the crowd and the speakers.
It’s a great opportunity to gain an insight into a large-scale science communication public engagement activity, carry out different types of evaluation methodology and hear about some great STEMM research.
