The World Health Organisation (WHO) and International Council of Nurses (ICN) have designated 2020 the Year of the Nurse and Midwife in honour of Florence Nightingale's 200th birthday.

To celebrate, Edinburgh Napier University is collecting stories from our about nurses and midwifes who linked to the University.

We are looking for stories that demonstrate:

• Leadership in nursing or midwifery, and/or
• Impact

When we say ‘leadership’, we mean this in the broadest sense. We believe that being a leader is more than just being in a position of authority. Being a leader can mean going first, being an example for others, making the path easier for others, or simply being the first to follow.

When we say ‘impact’, we mean impact at all levels. For example, the impact of a nurse or midwife on an individual patient and their family, or the impact of a piece of research on practice.

All student staff or alumni of Edinburgh Napier University are welcome to submit a story to be published on this blog. To make submission click the 'Submit A Story' tab in the menu bar above and follow the links.
