The Design it! Deck is a newly developed card game that was inspired by PACT Analysis (People, Action, Context & Technology) a common practice among User Researchers and Design Innovators. The game aims to introduce the core concepts and Ideas of PACT playfully and interactively, and is fun to play with family and friends.

Within this kit:

  • 1x Deck of Cards
  • 4x Playdoh
  • Various Templates
  • Booklet

Examples of some design challenges created using the cards by our co-designers

Pen and Paper Design

For this design for a teacher who wants to socialise while attending a sports event, using augmented reality- a simple sketch of an app to video chat with other fans at the stadium, while watching the game was created.

Design Using Clay

In this design a pet (in this instance a corgi) wanted to order lunch for himself and his friends using a VR headset- clay and paper were used to create the goggles. The pet’s view screen was added to illustrate what the corgi would see when using the VR set.

Robot Made From Recycled Materials

A design for a teenager wanting to learn a new dance in the gym using a robot – a mini portable robot displaying the different dance moves was made using a recycled bottle, a recycled chocolate tray and a cutout from an old newspaper. Blank paper was used to cover the bottle and tissue to create a ‘skirt’.
