Whitburn Academy opened in 1967 with the school currently hosting around 800 pupils from the surrounding areas of Fauldhouse, Longridge, Stoneyburn, Greenrigg, and East Whitburn, as well as from Whitburn itself. Whitburn has long been associated with both mining and music and our pupils have a strong connection to their community. We are delighted to be part of the Library of Inspiration initiative with Napier University and our pupils are looking forward to exploring the STEM-related kits.
Tynecastle High School is a six-year comprehensive secondary school which has served west-central Edinburgh with distinction for over 100 years. The school moved to a fantastic new site in January 2010 and has first class educational facilities. The school roll is currently around 850. We are a culturally diverse school and are proud of the fact that we have over forty languages spoken by our students and staff.
Gracemount High School is a small non-denominational secondary school with a roll of 623 which serves the community of South East Edinburgh.
At Gracemount High we value all of our pupils equally, providing them with a range of individualised education programmes which are designed to meet their needs and prepare them for leaving school.
Craigroyston Community High School is a non-denominational secondary community school serving a catchment area in the northwest of Edinburgh with a roll of 765 pupils.
The curriculum rationale is to meet the needs of every young person so that when they leave school they have a portfolio of skills, experiences, qualifications, and a knowledge of the job market to ensure they enter a sustained positive destination.
