From social study spaces that allow for collaborative work to individual spaces, silent study areas, and family study rooms, we have something to suit everyone.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Study rooms are available across all campus libraries\u00a0and\u00a0must be booked in advance\u00a0via\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/resourcebooker.napier.ac.uk\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Resource Booker<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">. You can book a maximum of one two-hour slot per day.\u00a0During assessment periods, this is extended to five hours per day.\u00a0Study rooms can be booked up to 14 days in advance.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Craiglockhart and\u00a0Merchiston\u00a0libraries have\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/my.napier.ac.uk\/Library\/About-the-library\/Family-study-rooms\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Family\u00a0Study\u00a0Rooms<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> for\u00a0students who have children with them.\u00a0Please book rooms\u00a0in advance\u00a0of your visit.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/my.napier.ac.uk\/Library\/About-the-library\/Opening-hours\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Library opening hours<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0vary across our\u00a0campuses.\u00a0We are currently\u00a0operating\u00a0our Summer Library timetable.\u00a0Our\u00a0standard opening hours\u00a0will resume in September.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Please read on to find out more about the study spaces available at each of our campus libraries.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/my.napier.ac.uk\/Library\/About-the-library\/Craiglockhart\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Craiglockhart Spaces<\/span><\/b><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Social study spaces are available in the main area of the library, which also includes a relaxation space where you can take a break from your studies.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Five<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">study rooms are available throughout the library. Each has a plasma screen, a whiteboard, and a webcam.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">There is also a quiet study room and a silent study area for those who prefer a more peaceful environment for studying.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/my.napier.ac.uk\/Library\/About-the-library\/Merchiston\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Merchiston Spaces<\/span><\/b><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Please note: Zones 2 \u2013 5 are currently\u00a0closed\u00a0due to\u00a0<\/span><\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/my.napier.ac.uk\/Library\/About-the-library\/Library-News\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">essential maintenance works<\/span><\/b><\/a><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and are expected to re-open in September 2026.<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Merchiston\u00a0Library is available 24 hours a day\u00a0during term time. You can use the library freely each day from 8am &#8211; 5pm. You will need your Student ID to access the library after 5pm.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Merchiston\u00a0Library is divided into 5 separate zones allowing for\u00a0different types\u00a0of study spaces\u00a0with\u00a011 study rooms\u00a0available.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Zone 1<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0is a social study area which allows for\u00a0independent study and\u00a0group work. There are round tables\u00a0to allow for collaborative working\u00a0and\u00a0several\u00a0computers\u00a0available for use.\u00a0There are also\u00a0two\u00a0study\u00a0pods with large screens for independent or collaborative working. Here you will find Study Room 8\u00a0where you can connect your\u00a0own\u00a0personal device to a large screen.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Zone 2<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0is another social study area which allows for\u00a0individual study and\u00a0collaborative working.\u00a0Computers\u00a0are\u00a0available for use\u00a0in this area.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Study\u00a0rooms\u00a01, 2, 5, 6 and 7 are\u00a0available where you can connect your own device\u00a0to a screen.\u00a0There\u00a0are also\u00a0two\u00a0study pods in Zone 2.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">There is also a relaxation space\u00a0to help you unwind from your studies.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Zone 3<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0is a silent study area with individual study spaces over two floors.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Zone 4<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0allows for\u00a0independent study and\u00a0collaborative working. Noise should be kept to a minimum.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Zone 5<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0has independent study desks and\u00a0desks\u00a0for collaborative working. This is a quieter area where\u00a0noise should be at a minimal level with low work-related conversation.\u00a0Study rooms\u00a03,\u00a04,\u00a09,10\u00a0and\u00a011\u00a0are\u00a0available in Zone 5.\u00a0Please note that\u00a0these study rooms\u00a0will be closed from 9pm to 9am.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/my.napier.ac.uk\/Library\/About-the-library\/Sighthill\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Sighthill Spaces<\/span><\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Sighthill Learning Resource Centre offers students a range of comfortable study environments with up-to-date facilities spread over five floors.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Nine study rooms are available, and all are equipped with computers; most also have plasma screens. Study room 4.E.03 has an adjustable height desk.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Silent rooms (3.E.07 and 4.E.07)\u00a0provide\u00a0the opportunity for silent study\u00a0with\u00a0great views\u00a0towards the Castle and Arthur\u2019s Seat.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">LRC Floor 1 is a social study space\u00a0with a combination of study booths and collaborative desks.\u00a0This can be a noisy area.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">LRC Floor 2 is where you will find the helpdesk. There may be some noise, but it should be quieter than on Floor 1. Computers and desks are available in this area for independent or collaborative study.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">LRC Floor 3 is a quiet study area but there may be some low-volume work-related conversations. Silent study room (3.E.07) contains individual study spaces and two dual screen PCs. Sighthill Library relaxation space can be found on the east side of LRC3, where you can rest and enjoy the natural light and views of the surrounding area.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">LRC Floor 4 is also a quiet study area where low-volume work-related conversations may occur. Silent study room (4.E.07) contains individual study space, one large monitor and two dual screen PCs.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">LRC 5 has group study spaces, laptop tables, four\u00a0group study rooms\u00a0and\u00a0comfortable seating.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Please\u00a0see\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/my.napier.ac.uk\/Library\/About-the-library\/Group-study-rooms\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Group Study Rooms<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0for more details on what facilities are available across our campus libraries.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/my.napier.ac.uk\/Library\/About-the-library\/Relaxation-spaces\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Relaxation\u00a0Spaces<\/span><\/b><\/a><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Each campus library also hosts\u00a0relaxation\u00a0spaces\u00a0allowing for more informal study or a place to unwind from your studies for a while.\u00a0Comfortable seating\u00a0and indoor plants provide a\u00a0pleasing\u00a0environment\u00a0to help you relax and a range of\u00a0activities\u00a0such as jigsaws, board games,\u00a0Lego,\u00a0colouring\u00a0sheets\u00a0and craft materials\u00a0allow\u00a0you\u00a0to\u00a0de-stress\u00a0and take a break from studying.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">As you can see, there are\u00a0a wide variety of study spaces available across our campus libraries.
