There are many trails to walk in this beautiful park, set over 1,000 acres. The park has a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dalkeithcountrypark.co.uk\/the-park\/history\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">rich history<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, having been in the Buccleuch family for over 300 years. You can also see the National Monument and Nelson monument. You can see the ruin of what was <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">once Scotland\u2019s largest gunpowder mill. You can also see the impressive and partly ruined Roslin Castle. A <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.walkhighlands.co.uk\/lothian\/roslin-glen.shtml\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">short walk<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> through the glen takes you to the famous <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosslynchapel.com\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Rosslyn Chapel<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">, founded in 1446 by Sir William St Clair. In the New Year, you might see the snowdrops starting to come out in the Glen.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Finally, another bracing walk in the wintertime is a walk along the promenade at Cramond. If you so desire, you can walk from Silverknowes along to Cramond and if you\u2019re feeling adventurous and have <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tideschart.com\/United-Kingdom\/Scotland\/City-of-Edinburgh\/Cramond-Beach\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">checked the tide times<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> , you can walk over to Cramond island.
