Stumped for your next read? Curious what the book professionals are reading? Look no further!\u00a0 Here\u2019s a peek into what the staff here at Edinburgh Napier University Library (ENULibrary) have been reading over the last year.<\/p>\n

Check out recommended books from all genres and Interests (we are a diverse lot!) Some are available right here at the Library<\/a>, but for the books we don\u2019t have, why not try your local library? Edinburgh City Libraries<\/a> have a huge selection of books and we love supporting them.<\/p>\n

\"tiny\u201cTiny Habits\u201d <\/strong>by B.J. Fogg.<\/p>\n

\u201cRecommended at a financial health webinar, and I read it over Xmas.\u00a0 A great way to self-change behaviour is by breaking down desired changes in multiple areas into very tiny habits, which are much more easily achieved than big changes.\u00a0 Prompt such habits by linking them to existing parts of your life, and celebrate when you successfully do them\u2026it all helps to rewire them effectively into your brain.\u00a0 Easy to read and to get started with. Recommended!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Story of Tea: a cultural history and drinking guide\u201d<\/strong> by M.L. Heiss and R.J. Heiss.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll you need to know about teas of the world\u2026production, history, and how to brew them. Lots of pictures. Say goodbye to teabags. Perfect for the Tea-head in your life!\u201d<\/p>\n

Emi<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\"Chernobyl“Chernobyl: History of a Tragedy” <\/strong>by Serhii Plokhy<\/p>\n

\u201cA very interesting and detailed insight about the\u00a01986 disaster and its aftermath. The events are recreated by\u00a0Ukrainian Professor\u00a0Serhii Plokhy\u00a0with detail and accuracy. At the same time, it’s quite interesting to read because the author tells\u00a0the stories of the firefighters, scientists, engineers, workers, soldiers, politicians, and policemen who found themselves caught there and shows a lot about the nature of the Soviet political system and the flaws of its nuclear industry. As some reviews say, you can read it ”\u00a0like a good thriller” and I found its less upsetting and disturbing than the recent TV show.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s\u00a0a\u00a0must\u00a0for\u00a0those\u00a0who,\u00a0like\u00a0me,\u00a0love\u00a0Greek\u00a0myths.\u00a0An\u00a0enlightening\u00a0essay\u00a0about\u00a0how\u00a0women\u00a0have\u00a0been\u00a0hidden,\u00a0belittled\u00a0or\u00a0directly\u00a0condemned\u00a0in\u00a0those\u00a0myths\u00a0retold\u00a0many\u00a0times.\u00a0 The\u00a0women’s\u00a0narrative\u00a0and\u00a0its\u00a0complexity\u00a0have\u00a0been\u00a0misinterpreted\u00a0through\u00a0History\u00a0and\u00a0also\u00a0Art, so\u00a0I<\/p>\n

enjoyed a lot reading about characters like Pandora, Medusa, and Medea and how they were not as virtuous or monstrous as they have been pictured (normally by men!).\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Study“Study with me: effective bullet journaling techniques, habits, and hacks to be successful, productive, and organized” <\/strong>Shao, Jasmin and<\/span>Jagan, Alyssa<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI enjoyed it because I have only recently started bullet journaling and this book gives a good overview of the practical\/organisational aspects of how to do it, and also guidance on how to make your journal more creative and interesting.<\/p>\n

For anyone who hasn\u2019t heard of bullet journaling before it is a customisable diary\/planner that be as simple or complex as you choose to make it!\u201d<\/p>\n
