It is a month-long celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and non-binary history, including the history of LGBT+ rights and related civil rights movements. In the United Kingdom, we celebrate it in February to coincide with the 2003 abolition of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Section_28\">Section 28<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>What we are doing<\/h3>\n<p>Here at the Library, we think it is incredibly important to support and promote equality and diversity. Furthermore, we are working hard to create more inclusive collections and to support our LGBT+ users and staff. For example, we are currently creating a permanent LGBT+ virtual bookshelf here on our blog, and we are training our staff to be inclusive in their actions and the language they use.<\/p>\n<h4>Resources<\/h4>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">If you are an LGBT+ student you can join <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.napierstudents.com\/organisation\/societies\/napierlgbt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Edinburgh<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Napier\u2019s LGBT+ Society. \u00a0<\/span><\/a> You can also <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">find out more about the student LGBT+ community on the <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.napierstudents.com\/organisation\/societies\/napierlgbt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Queer Napier<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0site. Staff can join the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/staff.napier.ac.uk\/services\/hr\/workingattheUniversity\/inclusion\/LGBTNetwork\/Pages\/LGBTCulture.aspx#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">University\u2019s thriving LGBT+ Network<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> or you can visit our <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/staff.napier.ac.uk\/services\/hr\/workingattheUniversity\/inclusion\/LGBTNetwork\/Pages\/LGBTCulture.aspx#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">web pages<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0to learn more about becoming an ally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In addition, The Library has a wealth of books and articles on the subject.
