Remote studying from their homes or student halls.<\/p>\n<p>Students have had to face many social challenges, including being unable to experience the usual thriving campus environment. This has resulted in students reporting that they feel a loss of belonging to a campus community.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>To help combat this here are some helpful ways to feel more connected<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>University societies may be holding online events to enrich your interests and build connections. You can find more information about Edinburgh Napier\u2019s societies by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.napierstudents.com\/teamnapiersocieties\/atozsocieties\/\"> clicking here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodhousekeeping.com\/life\/g27286691\/apps-to-make-friends\/\">Socialising apps<\/a> are a great way for freshers to talk with new people<\/p>\n<p>Why not email your professors or lecturers to find out about networking events and professional contacts- they may even need a hand with a project or two!<\/p>\n<p>If you are missing your fitness classes at the gym, or evenings at the cinema\u2026 you could join a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stemzfitness.co.uk\/online-classes\/\"> zoom class<\/a> or even host a <a href=\"https:\/\/nerdist.com\/article\/virtual-movie-night-netflix-free-online\/\">movie night <\/a>from the sofa of your home!<\/p>\n<p>Get involved in the wider community by volunteering: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.napier.ac.uk\/alumni\/get-involved\/volunteering-opportunities\">Napier Volunteering<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Develop your skills or career:<a href=\"https:\/\/my.napier.ac.uk\/careers-and-development\"> Napier Careers and Development<\/a><\/p>\n<p>By Jemma Lidgard<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Due to the Pandemic, both new and current students have had to learn to work in exceptional ways.
