These can be materials in Moodle to work through in their own time, or activities for use in live webinars.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Planning how you and your students can spend your timetabled sessions effectively. This includes keeping students engaged, tips around student prework for sessions and <a href=\"https:\/\/moodlecommunity.napier.ac.uk\/mod\/book\/view.php?id=18935&amp;chapterid=6605\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tools to keep students on track<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Conversations on online learning podcasts with experts from around the globe. Download each episode, grab some headphones and go for a walk while you listen in on our conversations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Support for students and staff<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Students<\/strong> can find quick guides and introductory videos for Webex, Panopto and Teams on <a href=\"https:\/\/my.napier.ac.uk\/IT\/YourITServices\/Pages\/Studying-Off-Campus.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">My Napier<\/a>. The Subject Librarians offer <a href=\"https:\/\/libguides.napier.ac.uk\/onlinedelivery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">subject-specific webinars and online support materials<\/a> for students in any module by request.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Staff<\/strong> can receive support for all aspects of technology enhanced learning from their <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/learningtechnologyhub\/help-and-support\/meet-the-team\/\">local Learning Technology Advisor<\/a> who continually provide 1:1 consultations and group sessions. DLTE run fortnightly <a href=\"https:\/\/moodlecommunity.napier.ac.uk\/mod\/page\/view.php?id=21400\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Help with Teaching Online Q&amp;A<\/a> and the monthly <a href=\"https:\/\/moodlecommunity.napier.ac.uk\/mod\/page\/view.php?id=21400\">Online Teaching Show &amp; Tell sessions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Latest Technology Updates<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Webex Meetings<\/strong> is continually updated with new features which are <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/learningtechnologyhub\/2020\/09\/22\/webex-meetings-update\/\">summarised here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>You may wish to explore:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Breakout rooms allowing students to work in private online rooms away from the main meeting.<\/li>\n<li>Animated reactions (emojis) allows the presenter to get a sense of the audience response by asking participants to give a quick thumbs up\/down, happy\/sad\/laughing\/surprised face, applause and celebrate.<\/li>\n<li>Display of streaming video, accomplished by enabling the <a href=\"https:\/\/help.webex.com\/en-us\/ntx2aid\/Share-Motion-and-Video-Content-in-Cisco-Webex-Meetings-Slow-Channel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">optimise for motion and video<\/a> setting when sharing your screen or application.<\/li>\n<li>Polling can help to engage students in your live sessions. Webex has a polling feature as per this <a href=\"https:\/\/napier.cloud.panopto.eu\/Panopto\/Pages\/Viewer.aspx?id=d8d9cee4-3a82-48f7-a910-aca900a668f2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">overview video<\/a> Also see this site&#8217;s articles on <strong>Mentimeter<\/strong>, a more sophisticated polling and quizzing tool, which is also available to staff.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Microsoft Teams<\/strong> also supports breakout rooms which are created at the start of a scheduled meeting. Further details about breakout rooms are available in this <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/microsoftteams\/using-breakout-rooms#:~:text=Use%20these%20steps%20to%20create%20a%20breakout%20room,the%20rooms.%20...%204%20Select%20Create%20Rooms.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microsoft quick guide<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Nq2pbPtMZGk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">help video<\/a>.\u00a0Microsoft Teams is a great platform to support student group working as well as live teaching, and to request a team workspace for your module then use the <a href=\"https:\/\/napier.unidesk.ac.uk\/tas\/public\/ssp\/content\/detail\/service?unid=593dad52aa3a4b3982f3823ae12f3b7b&amp;from=5ca4ae7d-3abd-40c6-9fa0-641ec655281f\">UniDesk form<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Graphic tablets and pens<\/strong> allow you to write and draw on whiteboards and other applications such as PowerPoint, and are a great way to create dynamic presentations in recordings or in live teaching sessions. A Wacom Intuos graphic tablet is available to order from <a href=\"https:\/\/staff.napier.ac.uk\/services\/cit\/Pages\/IT-Procurement.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IT Procurement<\/a>, and has been used successfully by colleagues such as this example in the <a href=\"https:\/\/moodlecommunity.napier.ac.uk\/mod\/data\/view.php?d=30&amp;rid=179\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">shared practice database<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recorded presentations<\/strong> are an increasingly popular assessment format, and the Moodle Assignment provides a convenient submission and grading space. Students can create videos using a variety of recording applications, including the Panopto, and this <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.napier.ac.uk\/learningtechnologyhub\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/37\/2021\/01\/Staff-Guide-to-video-presentations.pdf\">staff briefing<\/a> gives an overview of the submission options.
